This role is an excellent opportunity for any environmental, or countryside management undergraduate, to gain valuable in-depth experience and training at one of Severn Trent’s busy and beautiful Visitor Sites. As the public face of Severn Trent Water, good communication and people skills are essential at all times. During the placement you will develop first class customer service skills, and will look to protect and enhance the company’s brand and image through the quality of service offered. This will be through the maintenance of high standards of our facilities, and regular liaison with key external contacts, such as wildlife trusts, local authorities and the local community. You will also assist the Site Supervisor by maintaining strong relationships with our on-site tenants and their staff, including sailing, fishing, and water sports and cycling. You will help to ensure appropriate balance is kept between recreation and conservation interests, and safe operations on site are always a priority. There will be a wide range of general site tasks including estate management and conservation, together with property maintenance, recording of H&S checks & maintenance records, accident reporting and investigation and refuse collection and litter picking. You will carry out security and maintenance checks on our assets, buildings, site furniture and also site machinery and equipment. Rangers work on a rota system which may include early and late shifts, working regular weekends and Bank Holidays. This role will also involve both lone working and outside working in all weathers.
