Aberdeen City Council is seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to contribute at a Senior level to its Environmental Policy Team. The team has a responsibility for policy, strategy, projects, case work and engagement on a wide range of environment and land use matters (see Job Profile).
This post holder will work in partnership with colleagues, peers and the public to varyingly develop, direct and coordinate a portfolio of work related to: sustainable urban and land use planning, landscape, natural heritage, open space, outdoor access, trees and stakeholder engagement.
They will be expected to share management of a specialist team, including workloads, quality assurance and mentoring. The post holder will also be required to be involved in the wider remit of the team and organisation. The exact role will depend on the competencies of the successful candidate, with landscape and/or natural heritage being an advantage.
It is predominantly office-based, with visits within the city, occasional travel further afield and rare evening / weekend working. Flexible and mobile working options are available.
