After a recent internal promotion, the CLA South West region are looking for a rural surveyor to join the team. At this exciting time in the rural sector, we are looking for someone with a broad appreciation of rural issues and a willingness to engage in variety of new subjects in the industry.
Working closely with the Regional Director, regional team and national policy experts, the applicant will advise CLA members across the South West on a range of issues relating to land ownership, occupation, land use and rural business. These include subjects such as, but not limited to: planning, landlord and tenant, public access, wayleaves and easements, housing, compulsory purchase, future funding in farming, stewardship and rural development funding; as well as representing members’ views at stakeholder meetings and boards. Whilst the CLA are seeking a RICS qualified surveyor for this role, applications would be considered from candidates with experience in rural policy.
The successful applicant for this high profile and exciting role will be based at the CLA South West office in Biddestone, near Corsham, Wiltshire.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as well as a high level of computer literacy. A full driving licence and car is required as the position involves travel throughout the South West Region.
