The CLA is the only organisation solely dedicated to safeguarding the interests of landowners, and those with an economic, social and environmental interest in rural land for more than 112 years. Our in-house professional advisory team offers members independent and impartial advice on every aspect of their land ownership and uses the experience and expertise of our members and staff to promote our members’ interests and the positive development of the rural economy.
We have a vacancy for a rural adviser to work as part of our team in the South East, providing maternity cover from March 2020.
This is an exciting and varied role working within the regional rural advisory team. The successful candidate will work closely with the South East Director, the existing professional team based in Andover and national policy experts, advising members directly on a range of issues relating to land management, including the rural payments, stewardship schemes, environmental, ecological, the farmed environment, water and more. The role also includes representing CLA members at external stakeholder meetings and boards across the South East region e.g. LNP, catchment partnership and national parks.
The successful candidate must be educated to degree level within the environmental and/or land based sector and have a least 5 years’ experience. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as a high level of computer literacy. A full driving licence is required as the position involves travel throughout the CLA South East Region.
