IRC87800 - £19,928 pa - 37.5 hours a week - Perm role - West Lakes, Cumbria
We are looking for a Ranger to join the team caring for one of the most beautiful countryside portfolios in the National Trust – the West Lakes, Cumbria, more specifically Eskdale and Duddon Valley. There are huge opportunities here balancing conservation, cultural landscape, estate maintenance, relationships with farmers and visitor engagement; which is both challenging and rewarding. A part of this role will include working with and through partner bodies such as Natural England, the Lake District National Park, and others so you’ll need experience in partnership working.
Please note the start date for this role is the beginning of March 2020.
You’ll make sure that we’re delivering outstanding outdoors experiences and excellent conservation work. You’ll share our common goal with our supporters and build relationships in the local community, proudly representing the National Trust. So whether you’re maintaining our spending time with our farmers, working with volunteers restoring dry stone walls or chatting with visitors, no two days will be the same.
You’ll also share and promote the work that we do here, ensuring special places like these are here to be both protected and enjoyed by everyone for ever. This will see you responding to queries and explaining the value of the work being undertaken. After all, your passion and dedication could fire the imagination that makes a visitor become a supporter for the rest of their life.
