Salary £24,000 per annum rising to £25,000 on successful completion of 6 month probationary period.

In the role of Living Landscapes Officer North with Durham Wildlife Trust you will be responsible for delivering a Living Landscape across the Trust’s Northern Area; managing the Trust’s nature reserves and working with other land managers to deliver a coherent ecological network at a landscape scale.
You will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of species and habitat management, and have a track record of managing sites for nature conservation.
Good interpersonal and leadership skills are important as supporting and developing strong volunteer support is central to the role.
Knowledge of current issues affecting the agricultural sector and a familiarity with agri-environment funding will be an advantage. You will have the ability to develop and nurture relationships with other land managers and partner organisations, engaging their support to develop a Living Landscape.
A sound knowledge of natural history and a passion for wildlife and its conservation are obviously essential.
